We Are Who We Think We Are!!!

Well hello again faithful readers.  Once again you are going to be blessed with another Ranvier is bored on his bus ride from The Greatest City Ever posts.  Ok so now that all of you have stopped reading I am going to ramble on.   Regenfalls most recent post got me thinking.  Are we who we think we are?

From the beginnings of this humble group we have played to have fun(its even in our bylaws) but it seems over the past few years that, while we are having fun, we have also started to get much better at this game.  I would say Regens average of 86.7% of dominance is actually a little low, i would love to see how our little group would work if a game had dedicated servers.

As you all know, in the beginning the handful of us played Headquarters almost exclusively.  Why?  Because we sucked.  The only two members of this clan that had a snowballs chance in hell at getting kill was Crocky and I.  Rage sniped and yelled at the tv and I don’t know what the fuck Regen was doing in those days besides running towards a capture point, I told him for years he needs to run and gun and look at him now.  We won those matches because Crooky and I camped kills, rage got in a few perfectly timed game saving snipes and regenfall would cap the HQ’s at all costs. 

However, over the past few years it seems that we have gotten significantly better, especially when Ops came out.  Regen and I have talked at length about this, and it seems that our major issues now as a group is lag.  I know that my connection in particular is often horrible and I went through a glorious three weeks of having a red connection consistently, which was tons of fun for me.  Rage shares a similar connection issue, and im sure there are others.  

However, the last night I played(Thursday?) we all had full bars and we absolutely crushed many of the teams we played.  There was a definite streak where we were winning by at least 40 kills and I was sniping(aka being worthless).  I think we ended up losing one or two that night and getting called out by some douchy clan.

So I think that it is obvious gentleman that we are dangerously close to becoming a real clan.  Psia is tearing shit up, I cant remember the last time I have seen him go negative, and every time I end up playing against him for a match or two I can’t help but yelling “run bitches” in my best flamboyant voice.  Additionally Rage, Regen, and Play Doh have been slowly turning from average to dominating face regularly.  Even Chiller has put together some strong games since we picked him up, and Karma needs no description of his skillz.  

I think this is what we always envisioned a clan that has fun, doesn’t really care, and still decimates all.  I have to admit that when we are called out I do enjoy it, we have gone from being told we suck more often than not, to being feared.  I take all the trash talking as a sign of respect don’t you?

I think that it’s the addition of all of the skilled players over the years that have made us into a veritable juggernaut.  We laugh at clans that practice, or even care for that matter, and for the first time we are able to beat them down, even though I think our entire amount of teamwork can be summed up in one simple phrase: "who is gonna get that fuckin guy? Fuck!”  I think the way that we classify as a team is like a all star team, we all show up have some fun and probably win, but we rarely play defense, or frankly are concerned about much more than individual glory.  I know i've watched Regen stand over Crooky in last stand and not help him up, what an a-hole.  

Sure when Regen and I drink there is almost no amount of skill from the rest of you that can drag our group out of the mud, but we wouldn’t be the SWS anymore if we gave a shit about that.  Our clan is no longer growing because of people thinking we are funny or sound cool, but because we actually can win a game or two in a row.  It’s a strange feeling.  Someday if I ever get a connection and Crooky plays enough so that he doesn’t feel the need to be a cocky prick to us all the time, we should be in great shape.

In other news what do you guys think about bullet storm and homefront?  I think that they are both worth keeping an eye on.  As you all know I am always looking for a different game to bring the group to, hopefully one of those will truly take this clan away from call of duty for a bit.  See you on the series of tubes boys.
